i'm sick. i think it's a cold with other fun stuff thrown in. and apparently that gives me the right to not capitalize anything...it just sets the mood.
i had my doctor's appointment yesterday and was feeling alright, a little congested, but alright. i've gained four pounds and was told to start taking heartburn medicine and tylenol daily. i'm so not used to taking medicine that it's weird to now be doing so.
last night it really hit hard. you know what's worse than morning sickness? being congested. feeling like i can't breathe. (although I don't really remember exactly what morning sickness was like... i remember being miserable for days on end...but throwing up is more tolerable to struggling to breathe.)
i was tossing and turning and gasping and coughing and blowing all night long. then i'd fall to the floor so that i could breathe for a bit. it's scary not being able to breathe. i knew that i needed medicine, but here's the issue; we are having massive ice storms.
i thought i was in arizona while it was happening, but apparently i didn't miss all the bad weather. last night was the first time in my life where we watched the t.v. to see what schools and businesses would be closed for today. we're told to stay in side and not to leave for anything. so of course I choose now to be sick.
thankfully there's a wal-greens(or is it cvs?) that's between our house and stephen's work, which makes it less than five minutes away. (how's that for a commute!) he woke up early this morning (or maybe he was up all night too) and went to get medicine. although he got some cough drops that are supposed to help but all they're doing right now is to make me throw up. fun.
i could only sleep for fifteen minute intervals before i needed to breathe again and while i was awake i contemplated what i should post about. stephen finally updated his website, although he still has more to do, i thought i would add some fun pictures.
we've been looking through all of our pictures from
texas and it's fun to guess if i was pregnant or not at the time. here's the first one...

that was
pre-pregnancy...one of the few...here's the next one

pregnant...that's why i got sooo sick and tired after the crazy long bike ride. next.
pregnant...i think...on second thought, maybe not...i don't know the date this was taken so i can't be sure. next.
most definitely pregnant. this was in missouri and i was sicker than sick could be. we brought along extra plastic bags in case i threw up in the car because i was throwing up non-stop at this time. and then we found out that car rides make me anti-nauseous...or that they're the best thing for me to be doing. i thought i was even showing here. hahahahahaha. next.
obviously pregnant. i realized i haven't posted any pregnancy pictures on my blog. if you have facebook or read my sister's blog then you've seen a picture of what i look like now. if not then this is for you. next.
i ran across this one and realize how sickly i look...wayyy too skinny...but most definitely pregnant. this was while i was super sick and losing weight. there was another one where i look even worse but i'll save that one for later. oh yeah...i thought i was just barely showing...nope. next.
pregnant. this was over christmas break. and while we're looking at those pictures, take a look at this beauty...
he really enjoyed sledding. mind you he's not wearing gloves and his right hand is being squished between the hard snow and the sled...maybe that's what's up with the funny expression...maybe.
now i'm off to crawl back into bed. i may post later about all the fun movies to watch when it's stormy outside and you're sicker than sick.

For the record. Yes you were skinny but you are also still young. Some day you will look back at that picture and think. Look how skinny I was! And you will be missing it not the other way around. Then again I don't think I have ever been that skinny. ;)
My point is that you are looking at the body of a very young woman and trust me it changes. As you move through your 20's your body won't look so much like a teenagers. Having a baby helps a lot with that. ;)
Try sleeping semi upright. You know take all the pillows and prop yourself up with them. I used our recliner when I was having trouble sleeping in the last trimester.
Yay, she blogs! Love hearing from you and seeing the pictures! Hope you get feeling better soon. You thought the first part of pregnancy was hard, but here is where it really turns fun. It's a test of your endurance....the twist is that you can't stop when you are too tired or feel done. You get off this ride when the little man decides he's ready! =) Ah, the joys of pregnancy! =)
